Fortuitously, the recommendations of a fictional symposium described in the
2025 novel “Fatal Divides” by Tanweer Ahmed, have become the main themes
of the Delhi AI Declaration in 2026.

In the Grammar of Screens, he writes “Every revolution arrives with a vocabulary
of hope. The digital one promised connection without distance, knowledge
without gatekeepers, equity without waiting. Screens would flatten hierarchies,
algorithms would democratize opportunity, and human relations—once bound
by geography and accident—would finally become fair. Yet revolutions are rarely
betrayed by their enemies; they are undone by their unintended consequences.
What now confronts us, in the age of social and dark media, is a paradox the
architects of digital optimism scarcely anticipated: greater prosperity for the
already prosperous and a deepening, more intimate misery for those who were
already fragile.”

One can only hope that, in the days and years ahead, a rising chorus of voices
will gather strength and resonance, until humanity finally awakens to a simple
but fateful truth: Development built on inequality carries within it the quiet seeds
of its own undoing.
